Exercise 3
- These are the starting images:


The goal is to place unfocussed ballons into foreground of the first image.
- Open the balloons image.
- Unmask the black area of the balloon image using Mask>Set F2,F3 to Mask by Color and press F2.  
This can be tricky because the unmask display is black therefore you won't see it against a black background.  
- Change color space to RGB Gamma 2.2.
- Store image wirh Shift+1.
- Make the unmasked region white by clicking Basic>Negative.  
Press S to remove mask display to see white part of image.  
- (Press S again to reinstate mask display) Press I key to invert mask.  
- Color unmasked area black by pressing 0 and then remove mask by pressing M.  
The result should look like this:
- Apply Blur/Sharpen>Lens Blur with a radius setting of 10.  
The result should look like this:
- Change color space to Log CMY.  
Adding images in Log CMY space is the same as multiplying them RGB space.
- Press X and then open background image into the top layer, i.e., Layer 2 of 2.
- Add layers (Layer>Basic Operations>Set F2/F3 to Add/Subtract Layers) to get this:
- Press X key to place Layer 1 on top and then press key 1 to recall previously saved image.  
Note that this automatically changes color space back to RGB Gamma 2.2.
- Press M key to remove mask.
- Apply Blur/Sharpen>Lens Blur with a radius setting of 10 to get this:
- Add layers (Layer>Set F2/F3 to Add/Subtract Layers) to get this:
- Finished!
